We have all done it.

It’s 2:55pm on a Saturday afternoon, you have your 15 betting slips from every bookie going lined up on your table. The 22 team accumulator that pays £55k to the desperate double that is meant to be your saving grace!!.

We sit there in pure anticipation, stale bacon sarnie that can’t be eaten due to the hangover that has engulfed your fragile figure in one hand, hair of the dog in the other, we all know the first one is the hardest!!

We wait… We wait for Jeff Stelling to flip over to tell us how Cowdenbeath have opened the scoring against Celtic and our £55k dream is alive, this is our opportunity to hammer the bookie, shut the shop, and live the dream.

It’s not though is it? It’s merely a dream that takes you away from the rat race, the monotony of the 9-5.

What I suggest is a simple approach, something more cautious. Why waste your money on the 22 team bet, or the 15 fixture both teams to score bet. Why not actually think about what you are doing with your hard earned cash?

The answer is…. The rolling bet. It sounds boring and the stake is almost apologetic to start with. Bear with me though. If we start with say… £5 on Monday, and have a winner at evens every day, by Sunday we have over £600. That’s easier said than done though, if it was that easy we would all be wedged. (I am not condoning this amount the stake is completely optional. Only bet what you can afford)

Picking a winner at evens is not always easy. What we can do is lessen the risk and bet on the cautious side of evens. A rolling stake soon adds up and you can leave the journey whenever you want. Or keep on rolling….. It’s your call.
