Bundesliga preview and betting tips – Week 20

Bundesliga

After 7 tips from 8 landing last week, and all three accumulators, lets hope for a similar week this time around, with another eight games on show.

Bremen vs Dortmund

Dortmund’s win last week has somewhat glossed over their current problems on the pitch, with bookies obviously not picking up on that, pricing them at a crazy 1/3 away from home, despite their only win in five being last week, over bottom of the league.

Bremen are a different prospect. Their current form reads bad, but back to back clean sheets at home, including against the impressive Leverkusen make them more than a challenge for Klopp’s team, who are nursing some important injuries at present.

You can get Bremen or the draw for a huge 9/4, but I think playing a bit safer like last week is the way forward on Saturday, as they shouldn’t lose by more than a goal.

Best Bet: Bremen +2 – 4/5 – Bet365

Frankfurt vs Braunschweig

The Eagles will face a tough battle to break down the Lions, who have recently sorted out their defence, conceding just 11 times in their last nine games, after shipping 23 in their first 10. However, their problem still lies at the other end, just 11 goals all season and one in their last five away.

Expect a dull game here with the Eagles trying to penetrate the defence. Frankfurt have being drawing in six of their nine home games, and at 9/4 for the 0-0 at half-time appeals.

However, the only bet that makes total sense is on the goals market, and this shouldn’t prove a game worthy of many highlights come next week.

Best Bet: Under 2.5 goals – Evens – Bet365

Freiburg vs Hoffenheim

One game not to miss should be at the Mage Solar Stadion this weekend, free-scoring Hoffenheim travel there to try and stop Freiburg’s resurgance after consecutive home wins.

The inconsistency of the away side means they cannot afford to lose here, with Streich’s side in the bottom three, but just four points off them. Expect an end-to-end game here and one to watch if you can.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 goals – 7/10 – Pinnacle

Nurnburg vs Bayern

They say good luck comes in three’s, but surely Verbeek’s side can’t pick up a third win in a row at home to the unbeatable Bayern?

However, seven goals in two games since the break will give them hope, and you have to expect them to come out all guns blazing this weekend.

Drmic has four in two, and ten for the season, making 15/4 huge on the Swiss forward to score anytime, but I think the best bet has to be this considering Bayern are as low as 1/5 for the win.

Best Bet: Bayern & BTTS – 8/5 – Coral

Wolfsburg vs Mainz

No win in three for Wolfsburg and two defeats since the winter break yet they are still favourites for this clash, against a side who have won their last three and have been beaten just once in the last eight.

After winning on them both weeks, im again backing them to do the business away at Wolfsburg, and with the home side so poorly priced at 4/5, the value lies away.

Expect both teams to net and the Over 2.5 to come in at around 4/6, but I think Tuchel’s side deserve a punt again this weekend.

Best Bet: Mainz/Draw (Mainz +1) – 11/10 – Coral

Hamburger vs Hertha

The Red Shorts have lost five straight and are sinking without a trace, and Hertha have now lost two in a row after coming back from the winter break.

However, with their early season form seeing them on the brink of the top six, I fancy them to turn their form around and see this as a game they can target points from. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a draw here but if any side is going to win it I expect it will be the away side.

Best Bet: Hertha Draw No Bet – 10/11 – William Hill

Stuttgart vs Augsburg

The Reds find themselves just two points from safety after losing 2-1 in all three games since the break, and they could probably think of better sides to play than Augsburg, who are now unbeaten in seven.

Despite losing five away from their 10, but after a poor start they haven’t been defeated in four away, including that impressive draw at Dortmund last time out.

I can’t see Stuttgart shaking their home demons off, with just two wins all season in front of their own fans, I feel more misery with be heaped on them this weekend.

Best Bet: Augsburg/Draw (Augsburg +1) – 23/20 – BetVictor

Schalke vs Hannover

The game of the weekend for me, both sides going into it with six points from their two games back, and Korkut seems to have worked wonders with turning Die Roten’s form around.

The Royal Blues will prove a tough test though, only Bayern and Dortmund taking wins here in the league. They should make it five straight wins at home, but I expect 96 to score at least once, Rudnevs and Diouf looking like a decent partnership. The Over 2.5 looks a decent bet but at nearly as low as 1/2, isn’t worth betting outright.

Best Bet: Schalke & BTTS – 2/1 – Betway
