Bundesliga preview and betting tips – Week 19

Bundesliga

Augsburg vs Bremen

Werder Bremen have let in 13 goals in their last four away games and there is no sign they are going to improve as they slip away from European contention, while the Fuggerstädter have only lost to Bayern in their last seven, and come into this game on the back of that impressive draw at the Westfalenstadion, while Bremen drew at home to bottom placed Braunschweig. There should only be one winner here.

Best Bet: Augsburg to win – 8/11 – PaddyPower, William Hill

Hoffenheim vs Hamburg

After 4-0 and 3-0 losses respectively, these relegation rivals should leave nothing on the field on Saturday, and despite both being in the bottom six, they have managed a combined 69 goals between them already, so you’d expect a shootout this weekend as they both try and climb the league.

The last two meetings have seen 5-1 and 4-1 away wins, im siding with goals again. Although Over 2.5 can be found at 1/2, I think a bit more of a risk is well deserved here.

Best Bet: Over 3.5 goals – 13/10 – Ladbrokes, 888sport, Unibet

Leverkusen vs Stuttgart

After twice losing the lead against Freiburg last time out, Hyypia’s side look to end a run of three straight defeats which has seen them all but surrender any title challenge, but they will look to get back to winning ways against a Stuttgart team who have lost five of six, and were cruelly beaten midweek by Bayern.

Bayer should make it eight wins from 10 at home but with five of those seven wins coming with the opposition netting, and with Stuttgart scoring in all but one of their away games, I think there is much more value than just the 1.5 on the home win.

Best Bet: Leverkusen & BTTS – 2/1 – Ladbrokes, Coral, SkyBet

Mainz 05 vs Freiburg

Both sides come into this game with back-to-back victories, but under very different pressure. The O-Fives are just three points from Europe while just a point keeps Freiburg out of the bottom three.

Streich’s team are 2-2-5 away and all of those points came against poor opposition, they really struggle on the road and I think they will do again on Saturday. Mainz have win just two of their last four at home, but a loss vs BVB and draw vs Moechengladbach were hardly poor results. Their victory against Stuttgart impressed me and I think their momentum will carry them through here.

Best Bet: Mainz 05 to Win – 4/5 – BetVictor

Schalke vs Wolfsburg

Probably the match-up of the weekend, 5th hosts 6th with just a point seperating them, and despite contrasting fortunes on the first game back, I think this is a tough match to call. The Wolves were beaten by Hannover but on another day could’ve scored six.

Huntelaar returned for the Royal Blues as they dispatched a poor Hamburger team, and they will look to carry on that form, knowing a win could take them into the top four. With six of their 8 games seeing at least three goals, and Wolfsburg hitting that in their last four, we could be in for an entertaining encounter.

Best Bet: Over 2.5 goals – 4/6 – BetVictor, PaddyPower

Hannover 96 vs Moechengladbach

Die Roten have relied on their home form to keep them above water this year and their only loss came in a match where they finished with nine men, so I think they have the ability to further disrupt the Foals on Saturday evening.

No win in three for them, and just two from eight away, and its possible they will fall further from the top when this weeks fixtures are done. 96’s first away win of the season will have inspired them, and I think they are a decent price to nick something again under their new manager.

Best Bet: Hannover Draw No Bet – 1/1 – PaddyPower

Hertha vs Nurnburg

A win for Nurnberg after 17 games couldn’t have come in more emphatic fashion, while hertha slipped to a 1-0 defeat at struggling Frankfurt.

Despite sitting 7th, Berlin have been less than convincing recently, winning just once in the last four at home, and have scored just 14 at home times this season. This will have to change if they want to break into those European places.

Nurnberg however have showed signs of improvement, unbeaten in four now, and although without a win at home, they have drawn six in nine, only losing to the best three home teams.

They can score goals which Hertha aren’t doing consistently, so i think Nurnburg can take heart from their previous game and produce another shock here.

Best Bet: Nurnberg +1 – 1/1 Bet365

Bayern Munich vs Frankfurt

Guardiola’s side haven’t hit top gear yet, a 93rd minute wondergoal gave them all three points on Wednesday, and I think they may conserve energy slightly here, and I doubt we will see them run away with victory, as the 1/10 odds suggest. Barmy.

The Eagles beat Hertha last weekend and Leverkusen fell 1-0 at home to them just before the Winter break, and I think their defence is good enough to frustrate again this time around. Bayern have won 7 of their 9 home games by two goals or less, and with the +2 and 1/1 with Bet365, this bet has a ton of value.

Best Bet: Frankfurt +3 – 10/11 – Ladbrokes
