FIRST ROUND – SECOND LEG

Week 2 of the 2013 Copa Sudamericana saw 16 teams qualify for the second round of the competition. The teams that qualified for the next round are Atletico Nacional (Colombia), Cobreloa (Chile), Colo Colo (Chile), Deportivo Pasto (Colombia), Emelec (Ecuador), Guarani (Paraguay), Independiente (Ecuador), Itagui (Colombia), La Equidad (Colombia), LDU Loja (Ecuador), Libertad (Paraguay), Mineros de Guayana (Venezuela), Nacional (Paraguay), River Plate (Uruguay), Universidad Catolica (Chile), and Universidad de Chile (Chile).
Out of those teams that qualified there were only five teams that won their matches this week. River Plate won 4-0 at home against Blooming (Bolivia), Atletico Nacional won 4-0 at home against Inti Gas (Peru), Itagui won 3-2 away at Juan Aurich (Peru), Colo Colo won 2-0 at home against El Tanque Sisley (Uruguay), and Emelec won 4-0 at home against Sport Huancayo (Peru).
This week’s matches saw eight players score two goals for their teams in their respective matches. They were Charles Aranguiz (Universidad de Chile), Federico Santander (Guarani), Fernando Guerrero (Independiente), Isaac Diaz (Universidad de Chile), Jhon Valoy (Atletico Nacional), Richard Blanco (Mineros de Guayana), Sebastian Taborda (River Plate), and Ysrael Zuniga (Melgar). The first hat-trick in this year’s competition was scored this week. It was scored by Ecuadorian international Enner Valencia for Emelec in their match against Sport Huancayo.
This week’s matches in the competition saw six players sent off. They were Carlos Nunez (Penarol), Diego Silva (Cobreloa), Miguel Hurtado (Real Potosi), Luis Colmenarez (Deportivo Lara), Pedro Larrea (LDU Loja), and Sebastian Contreras (Cobreloa).
