SCOTLAND: Hearts Fans submit bid before deadline

Scotland

The future of beleaguered club Heart of Midlothian could be in safe hands following the fans consortium Foundation of Hearts submitted a bid to the administrators the BDO ahead of the 12th of July deadline which they will decide who will be named preferred bidder.

20130711 - Ian Murray MP Hearts

The consortium backed by over 5,000 fans of the Jambos, who have committed cash payments towards the funding of the potential takeover, the spokesman for Foundation of Hearts told STV sport:

“The proposal would see Hearts exit administration and, with the on-going backing of the supporter base, move towards a position of financial stability.

“Should this bid be accepted by BDO, it will allow the Foundation of Hearts to secure majority ownership over the club in a controlled fashion with support of the necessary capital to make today’s bid strong and credible.”

The Foundation of Hearts chairman Ian Murray MP re-iterated that the bid would not be possible without the support of the Hearts fans.

“We have submitted our proposal to bring Hearts out of administration and give it a future we can all be proud of.

“The bid is strong, credible and low risk.

“It provides a real opportunity for financial stability and a platform to grow the club we love again.

“Today may be the start of the next chapter in the remarkable history of Heart of Midlothian Football Club but, whatever happens, this club’s supporters will ensure it is a future as special as its past.”

With the deadline on July 12th it seems to be the fans buy-out up against Americans Sports Club 9 and their partner Scottish Businessman Bob Jamieson. It is unlikely the Scandinavian consortium who already has a bid rejected will submit another prior to the deadline.
