Another thrilling weekend of Bundesliga football in Austria has wrapped up and the table remains rather unchanged.
After a 3-1 home win against Wiener Neustadt, Austria Wien are now in perfect position to wrap up the title. A simple draw against Mattersburg on Wednesday May 22nd would see the Vienna team capture the league crown for a 24th time. A draw would also ensure that Mattersburg is not relegated at the end of the season. The team sits five points clear of the relegation spot with two games left to play.
Salzburg also celebrated another victory at home with a 3-1 victory against FC Wacker Innsbruck. Sturm Graz also won a home fixture against Ried by a score of 3-1 and continue their bid for European football in the Europa League next season. The club lies three points behind Rapid Wien who sit in third, but only one point ahead of rivals RZ Pellets WAC who have 47 points. Dropping points could spell an end to the European campaign next season for either team.
