An exciting week of Bundesliga football wrapped up this week in Austria with a meeting between cross-town rivals Rapid Wien and Austria Wien. The cracker of a match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Tomas Jun put Austria ahead twice in the 28th minute and in the 56th minute only to have his goals cancelled out with strikes from Deni Alar in the 53rd and Marcel Sabitzer in the 66th. The result was undoubtedly more painful for Austria Wien who missed a chance to go nine points clear of second placed Red Bull Salzburg.
The Salzburg team ended the weekend with a successful 6-2 thrashing of RZ Pellets WAC on Saturday and are now only six points behind Austria Wien. With Salzburg going up against Rapid Wien in Vienna next Saturday Austria Wien have a good chance to pull away once again as they face heavy underdogs Admira Modling, currently in 8th on the table.
