With just a handful of games to play Austria Wien look set to win their 24th Bundesliga Title. Leading the table with 66 points after 29 games the Vienna club is eight points clear of cross country rivals Red Bull Salzburg.
Although only seven games are left this season, Austria Wien still have to face their arch nemesis Rapid Wien next Sunday April 21st. On the last match day of the season Austria Wien and Red Bull Salzburg will go head to head in what could be a season deciding match. Eight points seems like a nice cushion but nothing is as of yet set in stone.
As only the first placed Austrian club gets a chance to qualify for the Champions League next season coming in first means a lot more than simply winning the domestic title. One thing is for certain: This final stretch of the season is set to be filled with ample suspense.
