RUSSIA 1 (Faizulin 73)

20130325 - Neymar vs Russia - Friendly

Russia started the first 15 minutes the better team with a series of corners; none of which resulted in a goal. Yet Kerzhakov did put a great chance wide from Shirokov’s lay off after good work from Vasily Berezutsky. Brazil managed to get a foothold in the game and Neymar had a chance to cross for Fred but he chose to go alone and ended up shooting wide.

After a fairly drab second half, Viktor Faizulin put Russia ahead after an almighty goalmouth scramble in which Faizulin and Shirokov had shots blocked on the line. The ball eventually fell to the Zenit midfielder and he managed to beat the wall of yellow on the Brazil goal line to put Rissia 1-0 up after 73 minutes. Hulk made an impact off the bench and it was his fantastic turn which opened up space for a pass to Marcelo, who crossed for Fred to tap in from five yards to equalise.

Brazil: Julio Cesar; Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Marcelo; Fernando, Hernanes; Oscar (Hulk, 67), Kaka (Diego Costa, 78), Neymar; Fred
